Smooth Forehead Wrinkles

Forehead wrinkles become more common as the years go by and are characterised by horizontal lines in the skin of the forehead. They may extend part or all of the way along the width of the forehead depending on the person.
They occur more commonly with age because the skin starts to lose its collagen and elasticity so becomes more prone to deformation.
The skin of the forehead is very tightly attached to the underlying sheet of muscle, the frontalis muscle, which is responsible for raising the skin of the forehead when it contracts. Contraction of the frontalis muscle elevates the eyebrows and that is when wrinkling occurs. Forehead lines disappear when the frontalis relaxes and the eyebrows return to their resting position.
Forehead injections count as “one area”. It can be more cost effective to treat more than one “area” at a time.
